Read: I John 1:5-9

If we walk in the light, as he is in the light… the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin (I John 1:7).

Let This Be Our Prayer

If we believe the clear teaching of God’s Word concerning scriptural freedom from sin and if we desire the whole will of God for our lives, we may be delivered from carnality without personally experiencing all of its evil power. We can be freed from the carnal nature early in the Christian life. In our search for entire sanctification it makes little difference whether we are driven from behind to escape moral defeat or drawn on from before to achieve spiritual victory. We need not delay. We may have freedom from sin now.

If we are converted but have never experienced scriptural freedom from sin, let us make the prayer of Isaiah Reid our own.

“O Lord… especially at this time do I, Thy regenerate child, put my case into Thy hands for the cleansing of my nature from indwelling sin. I seek the sanctification of my soul… Now, as I have given myself away, I will, from this time forth, regard myself as Thine. I believe the altar sanctifieth the gift. I believe the blood is applied now, as I comply with the terms of Thy salvation. I believe that Thou dost now cleanse me from all my sin.”

Praise For Today

I rise to walk in heav’n’s own light Above the world and sin, With heart made pure, and garments white, And Christ enthroned within.
