PAS Joins Forces with IHC to Advance Holiness in Latin America

April 17, 2025 // News

In a powerful and heartfelt segment of the “Front Lines of the Harvest” service at the InterChurch Holiness Convention in Gatlinburg, leaders announced a significant new partnership between PAS (Plataforma de Avivamiento y Santidad) and the InterChurch Holiness Convention (IHC). The collaboration is aimed at uniting and reviving holiness churches across Latin America through a shared vision for spiritual renewal and biblical holiness.

The origins of PAS date back to the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. During that season of uncertainty, leaders began to recognize a concerning trend: while Hispanic holiness churches were growing in number—over a thousand across Latin America—many were drifting away from the foundational message of holiness. Churches were isolated, unaware of one another, and in need of direction and encouragement. Out of this need, God gave a vision to create a platform where these churches could find unity, revival, and renewed purpose.

“This is exactly what we need in Guatemala—to bring all the holiness churches together so we can show the world that we are united.”

Sydney Grant, who has been instrumental in this movement, described PAS as a means to provide both virtual and physical platforms for Hispanic churches to come together in fellowship, ministerial collaboration, and leadership training. “Every generation and every people group deserves the opportunity to experience God’s reviving grace,” Grant said passionately. The movement has already seen fruit, with PAS holding conventions in several countries including Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and Peru, with plans for further expansion into the Dominican Republic.

To ensure the long-term future of this growing effort, Grant reached out to IHC’s General Secretary, James Plank, to propose a collaboration. The result was a unified commitment to advance the message of holiness together. Plank affirmed the divine nature of the initiative, calling it “of God,” and recalled that this type of work had been a dream among holiness leaders for years but had never materialized—until now.

Throughout the service, both men spoke of their experiences traveling to Latin American countries and witnessing firsthand the hunger for holiness. In one touching moment, Grant recalled a Guatemalan pastor who had felt alone and forgotten. After attending one of the conventions, the pastor laid his head on Grant’s shoulder and said, “This is exactly what we need in Guatemala—to bring all the holiness churches together so we can show the world that we are united.”

Plank, who accompanied Grant on visits to Peru, Honduras, and Guatemala, shared that despite language barriers, the Spirit of God was unmistakably present in these gatherings. “God is doing something great,” he said, noting the growing presence of Hispanic holiness churches even in the United States—in places like Florida, Indiana, and Massachusetts.

The service concluded with a moving prayer of dedication led by IHC Executive Board Member Andrew Smith. He prayed that the partnership would bear lasting fruit and that a harvest of Spanish-speaking Christians would rise up, rooted in the message of holiness. The prayer also expressed gratitude for the many missionaries and pastors who have already sacrificed to make this vision a reality.

“We are excited about what God is going to do,” Grant said. “There are great days ahead.”
