Read: Psalms 27:7-9

When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek (Psalms 27:8).

Thy Face, Lord, Will I Seek

We saw yesterday that many Christian people bear glad testimony to God’s work of sanctifying power in their lives. This is not something which they have achieved; it is the gift of God. We believe, however, that men do not find God by drifting, but rather by searching. While God is ever seeking to find us, we are found of Him when we turn to Him and when we seek for Him. We find forgiveness and reconciliation when we ask for them. We find cleansing and sanctification when we come to God for these gifts of His grace.

Having found this kind of help from God, we invite you to try it for yourself. As you meditate on these truths and pray about the meaning of these passages from the Bible, do they become God’s word to you? If so, will you follow the impulse of your spirit and take a further step toward God?

Perhaps your experience may parallel what happened in the life of another. Bud Robinson testified that the first time he heard the message of Christian holiness he declared that no one could get it and keep it. The second time he heard the truth he said: “Maybe some folk could have this experience, but it is not for me.” With the third message his faith began to take hold. Said he: “I believe it is for me. I’ll have it or die.” He died to himself and received blessing.
